As Christians we would find it unbelievable if we found Satanists decorating their homes and properties with manger scenes, Bible verses, and singing hymns all celebrating Jesus Christ and we’d be even more incredulous if they were sharing the gospel (as a treat!) Yet innumerable Christians DO NOT find it ludicrous, preposterous to participate, decorate, celebrate a day dedicated to the hideous and the evil. They’ve probably fallen for the “trick” part!
HALLOW-een
Hallow used in the Bible means holy, sacred, sanctified. Jesus spoke in His prayer saying “Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.” Satan the liar, Satan the thief is always vandalizing, stealing what is good and corrupting it and using it for his evil purposes. There is nothing holy or hallowed in regard to Halloween. It is the devil’s high unholy holiday and as a master of deceit he has somehow convinced many to revel in all things diabolical,dark, dealing with death and demons. (Just for fun!) The Lord doesn’t think it’s for fun. Deut. 18:10-12 “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft or one who interprets omens or a sorcerer or one who casts a spell or a medium or a spiritist or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.”
The roots of this day are entirely depraved and have grown the rotten fruit of evil. Strapping a happy face on it only cooperates with the deception. As an example…Casper the friendly ghost teaching our children that ghosts are good guys just wanting to interact with them! What could possibly go wrong? Here’s what-ghosts are demons, fallen angels, familiar spirits pretending to be “friendly” The dead don’t return in ghostly visitation. So if Aunt Milly visits it’s not aunt Milly!
In this past year haven’t we had enough of the pandemic pandemonium? Enough of FEAR and MASKS?? But sending our children out in the dark where symbols of fear proliferate, scaring them is just for fun? Harmless fun is just what the enemy wants you to believe!! Is it harmless to dress as witches, warlocks, vampires, ghouls,ghosts, and goblins seeing tombstones and skeletons on lawns severed body parts, blood and gore, death on display. Spooky, frightening, just for fun!
Here’s the definition of oxymoron…acutely silly,opposite or contradictory ideas or terms combined! Here’s an oxymoron-Christian Halloween! Moronic right? Children of light don’t mix with darkness death. 1Thess.5:5. “For you are all sons of day. We are not of night or darkness.”
Poison is poison, you’re not going to drink a little arsenic! Why would we expose ourselves even a hint of wickedness?
As an adult you can choose to play with fire and downplay dangers with the “just for fun justification”, but also as an adult it is our tantamount responsibility to protect the innocent. And as a Christian adult that responsibility is magnified. Matthew 18:6 Don’t be “tricked”, there are no “treats” in this 10 billion dollar pagan industry!
On October 31st let’s celebrate Reformation Day instead. A day that brought light out of the darkness of human tradition and rules in the church and shone it on the supremacy and authority of Christ and His Word Reformation Day when one man, Martin Luther took a stand against everything that didn’t glorify Christ!
Let’s take a stand!!!!
